Becoming a registered high school soccer referee requires 3 steps (links to help you get there follow):

  1. Register at MHSAA.com as a new official
  2. Pass the MHSAA test based on the Officials Guidebook
  3. Join a registered local referee association (that's us!)

Fill out the form below so we know you are on your way to becoming a high school soccer referee and we can support you with any questions you have along the way. For adult referees, our association membership fee is $40.00. Once you've registered here with SVHSSRA, follow the link to register with MHSAA.

For high school juniors and seniors, we waive our first season membership fee to help you get started. Fill out the form here and we will respond with the legacy referee application which allows you to register with MHSAA for reduced cost. MHSAA waives their registration fee and you only have to pay a per sport fee.

If you have any trouble with registration or have questions along the way, feel free to get in touch with Ricky Knoff.

You must be at least a high school junior to referee high school soccer matches.
Cell phone is best for last minute contacts.
If you already receive game assignments using Arbiter assigning software, best to supply the address already used there.

Review the Officials Guidebook (available here) and have it available for reference when taking the brief MHSAA test.
